Transforming your beauty routine and enhancing your appearance doesn’t have to mean making major changes to your lifestyle. In fact, sometimes it’s the more minor modifications that have the biggest impact. If you want to get more from your beauty routine, take a look at the small changes you can make today:
1. Use Lip Liner as a Base
If you want to rock a fuller pout, don’t reserve lip liner only for the outline. Using your lip liner as a base, before applying lipstick is a great beauty tip that will help to keep the colour in place for longer and make your lips look fuller too. Apply lip liner as normal and then use the same shade to fill in the corners of your lips for maximum impact.
2. Take Care of Your Teeth
If you’re guilty of quickly swiping your toothbrush around your mouth at the end of a long day, you’re not alone. However, taking good care of your teeth really doesn’t take long and can transform your health. While professional treatments, like cosmetic bonding or whitening, can make your teeth look great, a good at-home oral hygiene routine is essential. Place a timer next to your toothpaste and ensure you brush for at least two minutes morning and night.
3. Tear a Makeup Sponge for More Coverage
If you’re experiencing a breakout or your foundation isn’t delivering as much coverage as you’d like, try using a torn makeup sponge to apply it. The texture of the torn sponge enables liquid or cream foundation to be pressed on to the skin more effectively, which allows you to build up more coverage for a flawless look.
4. Combine Foundations for the Perfect Shade
Finding the perfect shade of foundation can be tricky, particularly if you have problematic skin and require a little extra help. If you’ve got endless bottles or powders at the bottom of your makeup bag, don’t discard them just yet. Often, mixing two different shades will create the perfect custom colour for your skin.
5. Apply Moisturiser to Your Neck and Hands
We all know that moisturiser is essential for the face but don’t overlook your hands and neck. These areas show early signs of ageing, so keeping them well-hydrated can prevent wrinkles and fine lines from forming. Every time you moisturise your face, add some to your neck and hands too for a beauty tip that takes mere seconds.
6. Tap Products on to Skin
Instead of rubbing serums or creams on to your skin, try to tap them on to your body as gently as possible instead. This stimulates blood flow and helps to keep your circulation healthy. Furthermore, it prevents you from pulling your skin, which can reduce elasticity.
Maintaining Your Beauty Regime
While it might be tempting to embrace lengthy or complicated beauty routines, it’s hard to commit to these every day. By making small, manageable to your changes to your current regime, you can create a custom beauty routine that works for you and your lifestyle.

I’ve never heard the trick of tearing your makeup sponge before. That’s a great tip! I’m going to have to give that a try. I have a couple of cheap disposable sponges here that I’m not going to be heartbroken about tearing to see how it goes lol

Love this, it’s so true about apply moisturiser to your neck and hands as they age just as much as your face! I have also started using SPF when I go out during the day, even though I live in the UK! Thanks for this blog x

I didn’t know that lip liner was actually meant to keep the lipstick in line! Also applying moisturizer to hands and neck is so helpful, so easy and quick to do to help keep them well looked after x

Ive started applying moisturizer to my neck, definitely is important. What I really need to do is drink more water! Hydration is good for the skin after all 🙂 I like your idea of mixing foundations/powders as well, hadn’t thought of that.
