Hey lovelies, honestly as a ridiculous workaholic I find it so hard to unwind and get on with some needed selfceare and relaxing, as I’m so worried about the things I’m working on and leaving them alone. So here are some tips on how to unwind, and these tips have personally helped me so much throughout the years.
Turn Your Computer Off
Honestly, even if you go to watch some Netflix on your laptop the temptation to get back to your work is going to be there, remove the tools for you work. Turn your laptop off, put it away, don’t even think about it until the next day you need too. If you have as computer, turn it off, walk away, close the door on that room and don’t go back into it. If you’ve got a work phone – lock that away and don’t touch it until the next day, or put it straight on airplane mode.
If You Can Get Out Your House
Fresh air is one of the easiest ways to unwind for me, I work inside my house when I’m not at my job. Even taking a small walk to the shops or to the park, helps my mind unwind it takes my thoughts off writing or scheduling, everything. Sometimes just the walk will allow you some space and it takes you out of your work environment or away from your work environment.
See Your Friends
Sometimes being around other people will help you get out of the work place, it’s so easy to relax with people you’re comfortable around. Whether it’s going out to the local pub and having some food and laugh with people that you love, or sitting at home with your friends watching some Netflix with snacks and some wine it’ll be fun and you won’t be thinking about work.
Do Something You Enjoy
Personally, I like to strip down jump into a big old bubbly bath with a big old glass of red wine, and fat book and just prune for a few hours. I find something super relaxing about baths and reading at the same time. It’s always a great excuse for some wine and lush bath bomb, a little pamper here and there is good for the soul if you ask me.
Watch A Good Film
I also really believe that sitting down with your partner, or even alone (as in my case) and watching a really good film can help you rewind. Whether you’re laying in bed or chilling on the sofa, your environment becomes so much more relaxed as you focus on a film and enjoy it. You can even pour yourself a big old glass of wine and enjoy all the snacks, if you’re into that type of thing.I’d love to know how you unwind and relax let me know in the comments! Also let me know if you have a film recommendation – I’d be interested.
