Hey lovelies, all to often I find it so easy to log in and start complaining abut life and how shit it is or has been so I thought it was time to write about happier things/ things I’ve been enjoying because it’s just too easy to focus on the negatives.
- Arty Interviews – I went for an art interview for the internship of my dreams – Whilst I didn’t get it, it was really great for experience and I’m glad I went because why my confidence was ridiculously knocked down, I know what I need to do to apply for next year to have a better chance. Silver linings lads.
- Reading – Look lads I know not everyone thinks books are cool, but I do and honestly I read some brilliant things. Patrick Suskind’s The Pigeon was one of them and I’d super recommend it to anyone. Also I’ll make a lil post on current reading to go further into this because I could write about books forever.
- Visiting Home – Living away from home means I can only go home once every few months, sometimes only a few times a year. So it was really nice to be able to sit down with the family and watch TV and go to the seaside. I honestly miss them a lot nowadays.
- Black and White Movies – In May my insomnia was so bad, so to pass the time I started watching black and white old movies, particularly ‘horror’ movies. I watched the original of the Haunting of Hill House and Whistle, and I’ll Come To You and honestly they were great and so exciting to watch. Especially if you enjoy horrors that are terrifying in the non traditional jump scare gore kind of way.
- Pokemon – Not going to lie I’m still playing Pokemon go, and I went to see the new Pokemon movie in cinemas, and I have absolutely zero regrets.
- Making prints – As a full time artist I have a love hate relationship with the work that I make, and I find that this is so much worse with print making as I really am hard on myself and the work that I do make. Towards the end of the month I found myself making work for an upcoming exhibition that I was honestly really happy with and I that I enjoyed making so much and it was just such a nice feeling to have. There’s nothing quite like feeling that you’re doing well with what you want to make.
I thought this would be better than a favourites post since I don’t really have many products to write about! I would love to know what things you loved in may, let me know in the comments.
