Ceremoial Magick can be described as any work within the realms of magick that entail discipline and self mastery as you’re evoking spiritual, cosmic, or personal energy to achieve an outcome.
This is usually done in adherence to a spiritual discipline or framework, such as performing a ritual on Friday, for love and finances. (Friday is linked with the planet Venus, and Venus ruling over these areas.)
You usually gather necessary materials and ingredients in advance, and the ritualistic ceremony generally requires preparation and is not limited to including additional people in the process. There are designated periods of time for various works and some incorporate astrology, and some do not.
Intention is emphasized with this type of ritual work, as it is one of the main ingredients to make an effective spell.
What if I Don’t Have the Time or Space to Practice?
If you don’t have the time or space to practice for whatever reason, but still want to have the work done there are other renowned practitioners that could do ceremonial magick for you. Serpentine Spiritual Arts has a lot of their materials prepared in advance.
Or if you have time to perform the rituals but don’t have the time to prep the materials they can also help take that strenuous portion of the ritual off your mind. Some ingredients like charged crystals or beads that require long durations of time in a specific state, are already made; thus expediting the process for you to do your ritual.
Full Moon water, requires that you charge a crystal such as Rosemary Quartz Crystal underneath the rays of The Full Moon, as water is receptive to light and energy, and stored for later use.
If you stay in an apartment unit, or anywhere that makes it difficult to get a good angle, this could be frustrating.
Other Examples of Ceremonial Magick and Uses
- Casting The Circle or “Calling The Corners” which invokes The Elements and allows the ritual workers’ access to ancient, universal, and unremarkably powerful energies to have The Universe bend to your will, divine wisdom, and a sense of control of your destiny. There are an infinite amount of purposes some might resort to this ritual, but it is advised to perform when coming from a positive and pure place to avoid backfiring, harm, or an imbalance.
- Appointing New Moon dates to set intentions, cast spells, and rituals while Full Moon’s are set to be a time of culmination and fruition.
- Taking a bath, while pouring Lavendar and Rosemary oils in the water and the candles lit. Chanting self-love affirmations which ultimately attract more love and abundance.
