For a lot of people, exercise definitely belongs in the category of things they know they should do, but don’t actually want to. After all, it’s good for you, you know it’s important, but actually getting started can really feel like a problem that’s impossible to solve, and that’s more than likely because exercise has been seen as something you have to push through instead of something that can just work with your life the way it is (or mostly the way it is, without some of the bad habits, of course). When you change how you think about it, it all becomes easier, and with that in mind, here are some examples of how to make exercise feel less like a chore.

Stop Treating Exercise Like A Punishment
One of the biggest reasons why exercise can often feel like a chore is because it’s used to make up for something, like sitting for too long or eating the wrong food, and so on. So when you’re thinking of it in that way, it’s going to make it feel like a real punishment, and that in turn makes it hard to get any enjoyment out of it.
It makes sense, in that case, that exercise works a lot better when you think of it as something good you do for yourself, not like it’s just there to correct a mistake you made. That way, there’s less pressure and more motivation.
Choose Movement You Actually Like
Not everyone enjoys the gym, and that’s fine – we’re all different and we all have different preferences. But the good news is that the gym isn’t the only way to get exercise, and you’ve got so much choice, including walking, swimming, cycling, sports, dancing, yoga, even things like gardening – they all count, even if they don’t feel so much like exercise because you like doing them.
In the end, the best form of exercise is the one you don’t have to convince yourself to start and keep doing, which is why enjoyment is probably more important than how much you exercise or how intense the exercise is.
Fit It Into Your Lifestyle
Exercise can feel like a problem because you have to make time for it, and that can mean it’s hard or even impossible to do because your schedule is so full. But what if you didn’t actually have to make time for it because it could just fit into what you normally do anyway?
You could walk around while you’re making phone calls, for example, or do some stretching while you’re watching TV, or even have a treadmill or exercise bike in the living room with you. And if you give yourself a proper wind down afterwards, with a warm shower, some stretching, and something from the Delta-8 THC collection, you’ll feel great about what you’ve achieved.
Drop The All Or Nothing Thinking
Missing a workout doesn’t mean you’ve failed, and being inconsistent doesn’t mean exercise isn’t for you. The fact is, although it would be lovely to be as consistent as possible all the time when it comes to exercise – or anything else, come to that – that’s not how life works.
The key is to be flexible, and not to beat yourself up about things if you skip something. Just don’t give up entirely, and you’ll be on the right track.
