AD| With the autumn and winter holidays right around the corner I thought I’d share a post on how to plan a road trip if you’re going to visit family members or just going to check out a new place this could be vital to you.
Clean your car before you go
There is honestly nothing worse than travelling long distance in a car that is full of old McDonald’s wrappers, used Starbucks cups and general mess. Make sure to clean it out and give your car a little hoover if needed before you go. It will make the journey a lot more enjoyable.
Make sure your car is ready to go
It’s important to make sure your car is in top condition before driving it anywhere, whether that’s making sure it’s serviced or it’s had new tyres. For quick vehicle services you can go online and book your tyres in Wakefield from Ossett Tyre House.
Plan your route
Make sure you know where you’re going, the route you’ll need to follow; take a map or have your sat nav/google maps on your phone to navigate you. It may be somewhere you haven’t been before so make sure to be prepared because getting lost can be very stressful on a road trip.
Pack water and snacks
Once your car is clean and ready to go the next important thing is to make sure you stay hydrated on long journeys. If you’re not going to stop off, then make sure you have plenty of water or drinks and that you have some snacks in the car too.
Don’t forget anything
If you’re going to visit your family for the holidays or you’re just visiting some friends, make sure you don’t forget anything. If you’re staying overnight, make sure you have all the essentials (clean pants, toothbrush, hairbrush, deodorant etc). Make sure you have money on you in case of an emergency. If you’re taking a present or gifts for the holiday don’t forget them.
Have fun
Whether you’re going on a road trip with friends, or to visit family or to just get out of town for a few days, have fun. Play music in the car, enjoy the journey, get that delicious food for a service station if you want it. If you’ve ever been on a road trip I’d love to know if you have any tips for anyone wanting to venture on one. If you haven’t been on a road trip is there anywhere you’re dying to visit?
