AD | Hey lovelies, I know how much y’all love posts about how to start a money making blog so today I’m bringing you a review of Izzy’s How to Start a Money-Making Blog (Your Creative Business) Online Course. Izzy gifted me a copy of her course, in return for an honest review.
Izzy’s course is an extensive walk through of how to monetise your blog, with an incredible amount of add-ons. In the review I’ll be walking through, who is course is for, the content it has, whether or not it is worth it and the thoughts that I had. There are so many courses out there for monetising your blog and honestly this is one of the best I’ve come accross.
Course Information
When you purchase the course you get a-lot, here’s a little breakdown of what the course includes:
- 15+ lessons that contain the elements of a profitable blog
- the Blogging Business Plan workbook to apply what you learn
- A list of tools you need to help you build a money-making blog
- 7 different ways you can start monetising your blog
- Ultimate blog post formula so that you never forget what to include in a blog post again
- Blogging Tasks Timeline on how to prioritise your tasks from set up to launch
- Step-by-step guide on how to set up a self-hosted WordPress blog
I’ll be going over the sections below, but I thought this course included quite a lot for the price. Particularly for a new blogger, the WordPress Basics Masterclass is a very handy extra.
So who is How to Start a Money-Making Blog course aimed at?
- Beginners or first-time bloggers
- Hobbyists who want to get serious blogging
- Established bloggers who want to create a profitable blog
Who isn’t the course aimed at?
- Professional or full-time bloggers
- Bloggers who want to continue blogging as a hobby
- Bloggers who are already monetising their blogs
For the most part I would agree with this, but this could be a really great refreshers for those who already monetise their blog but are struggling.
Course Materials: The Blogging Business Plan Workbook
The How to Start a Money-Making Blog starts off with a little bit of course material, aka The Blogging Business Plan Workbook which comes in a few different forms, making it easy to access in the form that is best for you. In Izzys words “I created this workbook to help you set up the foundation of your blog with a creative business plan”.
The Blogging Business Plan Workbook is 28 pages long. If I’m honest, even as an experienced blogger I found this really helpful, as each and every chapter is broken down to help you ask some important questions about your direction, and strategies you want to implement. The best bit is it comes as a printable, so if like me you like having something solid to write on it’s so helpful.
How To Start A Money Making Blog Lessons
The course is broken down into small lessons. I really like this approach, as each come with an accompanying youtube video, and at the bottom of the page reminds you to check back on your Blogging Business Plan Workbook and fill it in.
There are 17 lessons within the course, so I won’t review each lesson, but there are a few standout chapters to me. These are the strategy lessons and the How to Cultivate a Business Mindset lesson.
When your start out monetising it can be hard to get a strategy down. You might not have the following to just post anything and succeed, so the content, promotion and monetisation strategy are really good chapters Izzy has in the course. For each of these The Blogging Business Plan Workbook has really great fill in sheets to help you get your plans down. As someone who maybe new to making money and producing strategies this has everything you’ll need.
I think it’s worth noting that every single lesson is a good size, the course took me 2 days to get through and I spent 1-1.5 hours reading everything, taking notes and watching some of the videos. For those who don’t learn well via reading alone, the youtube videos are a great touch!
The WordPress Basics MasterClass
Izzy describes the WordPress Basics MastersClass as:
“A video walkthrough on how to navigate the WordPress platform. Learn how to install themes, plugins, set up menus, as well as how to prevent spam comments and incorporate SEO-friendly practices so that you get a better understanding of how to use your WordPress blog”
This was a super hand video walkthrough that I found so interesting. I recently only moved to WordPress so even as a seasoned blogger, I learnt a-lot from it! This extra is worth $100 and so handy.
Final Thoughts
The How to Start a Money-Making Blog course comes with lifetime access to the course and digital downloads that come with the course as well as future upgrades. It costs just $97.
If you’re a new blogger, or a blogger who is worried about the direction of your blog, and how you’ll be able to monetise your blog then this is for you! Even as an established blogger I think it’s important to go over your values and your branding, I really enjoyed the course, and as mentioned above I loved the Youtube videos.
I also think there’s a really personal touch at the end when you’re able to get a sheet of completion with your name on it. It’s certainly something I’ve not seen with a course before.
The How to Start a Money-Making Blog course gets a massive thumbs up from me I highly recommend it. Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever purchased a course for your blog, and how you felt about it!

I wish I’d accessed something like this when I first started out! It sounds so comprehensive, and I think what really sells it for me is the YouTube videos – that’s not something you see often with other similar courses.
