Guest Post | Today I have a guest post from one of my favourite content creators Vada, I’ve used and loved her products for a really long time so today she’s telling us everything about her Social Media Handbook! (AF).
If you haven’t met me before, I’m Vada, I’m a freelance social media manager and blogger. I started blogging in 2016 on Blogger about travel, lifestyle and book reviews. I made the switch to WordPress and I started freelancing 2 years ago.
I started working as a marketing apprentice with a digital marketing agency and from there I have worked with various different brands including Rich Dad Poor Dad, bloggers, small businesses and more.
I didn’t enjoy working for someone else so I made the switch to freelancing on a whim (which I don’t advise unless you’re impulsive like me!) I set up my own social media agency and I was doing very well until Covid hit. My business took a turn for the worst and because all my clients were event based, I lost them overnight.
I started to panic. How was I going to afford to live? What was I going to do for the next few months now I had nothing to fall back on?
That’s when I decided to revamp my website and offer consultations. I had already been working on the Social Media Handbook, but Covid gave me the push I needed to actually publish it and to stop procrastinating.
The Social Media Handbook (AF) was created over the course of around 3 months. I spent time at home, in cafes and even in my partner’s car trying to finish it between client work.
Releasing my first course out into the world was a scary experience but having been in marketing for 5 years I felt qualified enough to release my project out into the world!
The Social Media Handbook (AF) was made with bloggers, small businesses and entrepreneurs in mind. It touches on the topic of sales and how to generate more views to your content.
I worked on this course for weeks on end trying to perfect it and make it a powerful read. It’s over 35 pages long and not only do I offer tips based on my own experiences and how to improve your following, I also included a list of tasks to complete as well as printables.
The Social Media Handbook Includes:
• Creating a Brand
• Identifying and Targeting Your Audience
• Using Twitter for Your Brand
• Using Facebook for Your Brand
• Using Instagram and Instagram Stories
• The Best Times to Post
• How to Use Hashtags for Your Brand
• Graphics and Photos
• How to Collaborate with Bloggers and Influencers
• Creating Content and more!
Not only will you learn how to grow your following organically, you’ll also learn how to identify and target your audience if you don’t already know who they are. I talk in depth about how to collaborate with others, how to find the right hashtags that will get you hundreds of impressions and the best times to post on each platform.
Writing the Social Media Handbook (AF) gave me so much confidence in what I do and the feedback I’ve had has been amazing. I’ve been told that my clients had never thought of these growth techniques and they’ve grown their following by hundreds within weeks.
I gave one of my clients a tip for Instagram growth that’s in the handbook and she said: “I wanted to tell you that thanks to your tips I’ve been getting great results! I now have over 900 followers and my recent picture got 400 likes and reached over 3900 people! Thanks for sharing all your tips!”
When I first started sharing these tips with my client she had around 200 followers. Within a few weeks she had gotten to 900 and now after a couple of months she’s at 4,150 Instagram followers.
By the end of this course you should be able to identify your audience, post quality content and graphics, know what hashtags to use for your brand and how to use certain social media channels to your advantage.
