So when I went home last weekend I was able to go to the MAC store, where I am at university there isn’t one close to me at all. So it was time to pick up a new lipstick. At first I was looking for a plush pink similar to LimeCrime’s Polly ( but I decided to buy polly instead after online a I couldn’t find one similar) I swatched a lot of shades but in the end it was between Dark Side and Dare You and I went for Dark Side because it was slightly darker.
Dark Side Amplified is described as a deep burgundy colour, it is actually a lot more purpley than a red. It is not a matt shade but it does stay on very well even without a lip liner! I wouldn’t suggest this shade if your shade if you don’t like very bold. I’m very pale so this stands out a lot on me. I would buy a lip liner for this as well if you can but it isn’t necessary, if you’re using a mac shade I’d go for Beet or Plum! ( I have both and they work just fine underneath.
So yes! New lipstick, tell me what mac shades you love? I’m looking to buy Soar next and I’m excited for it.
