Hey lovelies, I’ve been meaning to post this for a while and it got delayed in my scheduling but here are the books I’ve been reading lately.
House of Night series ( books 1-5, Marked, Betrayed, Choosen, Untamed, Hunted) -The House of night books are my favourite by far, I started reading them when I was in high school and I own two copies of the regular versions and a copy of each of the special editions for all 13 books! If you haven’t read them and like Vampire based young adult books then I recommend them. The stories follow a 16 year old girl Zoey who gets ‘marked’ as a vampire, the books go through her change from fledgling into vampire and how she becomes blessed by there god Nyx. A very good read.
Vampire Academy ( books, 1-3 Vampire Academy, Frostbite and Shadow Kiss) – I pretty much read these books all the time. I’m a massive fan of them and the film. The books follow Rose and Hathaway and her friend/ vampire princess Lisa. The first three books have the best plot, after the third books it goes down hill. The books entail the school, social and love life’s of these characters. I do enjoy almost every part of this series ( except the slut shaming in the first book).
The Sky is Everywhere – I adored this book so much. First up it has some amazing illustrations and hand written notes that are part of the book and honestly I’m a sucker for it. The book is based around Lennie, a girl who loves music, books and is a “band geek” her and her sister Bailey share a strong bond because of their different lifestyles, but this shakes up Lennie’s work when her sister abruptly dies.
Holding Up The Universe – The first thing that drove me to buy this book is that it is by the author Jennifer Niven – who also wrote All The Bright Places an absolutely amazing book. The book is based around a girl named Libby who has dealt with bullying based on her weight and death within her family and a boy named Jack. The two become caught up in each others life and learn they more in common than they first thought and feel less alone. This isn’t the kind of book I would normally pick up but I think it gives an important message across. I know that this book has some bad reviews because many people have found it offensive but seeing past that I did find it a good read.
So this is what I’ve been reading, I’m currently reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson so I’ll update this post when I finished it. Let me know what you’re reading as I love book recommendations.
