You’ve probably seen the popular show on TV called tattoo fixers. The one where people go to get coverup of body artwork that was less than well considered. Although getting a coverup isn’t the only option to consider when your ink isn’t quite at its best. Read on to find out more.
Coverups
Some spectacular artists specialise tattoo coverups these days. In fact, you can go from having the most embarrassing tattoo on your body to having the most stunning piece of artwork. Something that is great news if you have an ex’s name, or ill-advised ink you got on holiday you need to get rid of.
Just remember that when it comes to coverups the financial peace will be larger than the original. Additionally, if the region contains lots of black ink, your new piece will need to as well. Otherwise it won’t give you that seamless look you want.
Touch-ups
Often, over time even the best tattoos begin to fade. Something that may make them look a little messy, or distort the linework to the point that it is hard to tell what the image is meant to be. Of course, this begs the question of what you should do when this happens.
Well, one option is to go into the shop and get a touch up done. That is when an artist will follow the original design and go over any lines or shading that is starting to fade. In fact, this can be a great way to give new life to a favourite tattoo without having to get a full coverup or removal.
Removals
Sometimes the best thing for a tattoo that no longer represents who you are is to remove it. Of course, many people are put off by this process because of the pain involved.
Happily, this no longer needs to be the case, because you can use things like this tattoo numbing cream to make the process much more comfortable. Something that will come in handy as most tattoos take at least a few sessions under the laser to start to fade.
Infections
For the most part, infections are rare when it comes to tattoos. The reason being that there are so many talented and professional artists out there that abide by stringent hygiene rules. However, sometimes, if you aftercare as a client isn’t up to scratch or if you have an adverse reaction to all that ink, there can be a problem.
Fortunately, there are some things you can do if you are unlucky enough for this to occur. The first is head to your doctor and get things checked out. After all, it never pays to be careful where your health is concerned. Next, make sure that you are following the instructions that your tattooist gave to you. Finally, remember it may just be a mild shock reaction caused by the tattoo process, so be sure that you allow your body some time to rest and recover. Although keeping an eye on it, it’s always a good idea.

I love tattoos but have never had the courage to have one done, which is probably a good thing because I do not know what design I would pick and something that gets inked onto me has to be special. 🙂
Also, love your new site look!
