There are so many benefits to having a self care Sunday. Many of my readers are bloggers, and will know the struggle of managing a job and studying, or a job, studying, and university, having a family and managing a job. It can be tough, and draining.
One of the main benefits of creating a regular self-care Sunday is that you’re actively building that time into your week for yourself and your wellbeing. Taking time for yourself regularly is vital in order to avoid burning out, and to enjoy the life you live.

A self care Sunday is the perfect way to make more time for yourself. As mentioned above it can help you avoid burning out. I personally find that Sunday is the best day for me to make time for myself. My self care Sunday includes drinking a vanilla soy latte, wrapping up in a blanket with a book. I love drinking coffee and reading or writing it is my ultimate self care activity. This make look differently for you but I personally have to have my coffee machine involved in my self care Sunday.

One of my favourite self care activities lately has been creating and using the aromatics make your own cosmetics kits. I was sent the Foaming Bath and Shower Kit in the mandarin red scent. Aromatic has so many beautiful make your own cosmetic kits to make your own skincare/beauty products at home. As we enter into the Christmas season, these are perfect for yourself or for a gift for a friend or family member. The best bit about this particular set is that it makes 3 products from this set. You make the 100ml foaming shower/bath oil, 100gm foaming bath melts, 100gm Emulsified salt scrub.
The foaming bath and shower kit, comes with the following ingredients:
- 100ml Rice Bran Oil
- 100gm Cocoa Butter
- 2 x 100ml Lumorol K 5229
- 50gm Himalayan Salt
- 10ml Red Mandarin Oil
- 10ml Preservative Eco
- 10gm Emulsifying Wax (BTMS 25)
- Thermometer
- 4 x 30ml Aluminium Jars
- 2 x 100ml Blue Bottles
The kit retails at £31.20 including VAT, which if you ask me is a STEAL. You get to make 3 beautiful products which are incredible. The process is really fun and not too messy. The kit does tell which items you will need to make the set. I had 80% of these to hand, and the other items where easy to amazon to the house. I had everything except the ice tray and the beaker. The equipment needed for the foaming bath kit was as followed:
- Silicone ice cube tray
- Double boiler or bain marie
- A beaker or heat proof jug to mix the product in
- Silicone spatula or stainless steel teaspoons
- Digital weighing scales
- A jar to store the bath foaming melts in.
I was worried that the process of making the kit would be messy but it was wasn’t. Once I had made the items in the kit, the cleanup time was less than 10 minutes. As soon as I had made the salt scrub I had to try it as it smelt divine. It was the best way to spend the afternoon, and I personally have saved the other two products to use on future self care Sundays.
All of the kits by Aromatic are produced by industry experts which means they’re perfect to use for beginners, students or professionals. I was definitely a beginner and I found the process so easy! Most of the products are vegan and all of them are cruelty free, which is great. This would honestly make the perfect gift, and I’m excited to order another one of their kits for myself.

I love this post! I do most of the things listed here, though not on Sunday. I’m a single mom and I usually spend my Sundays with my daughter. I either get up early and have some self-care time or have a buffer day on Monday. I know it sounds silly but I work on Saturdays and for me, Monday is Saturday.

Making your own cosmetics sounds so much fun! Flora would love one of these. As I sadly don’t live near the sea, I’d have to go for learning new gardening skills, which is always my form of Sunday self-care 🙂 x
