We all know that one of the best things that we can do for ourselves is to model a healthy lifestyle. A balanced diet, coupled with movement in your body in a way that makes you happy is how you can make yourself healthier. Add in a sprinkle of therapy sessions for your mental health and a great group of friends for your emotional health, and you pretty much have the right cycle of health around you.
The trouble is that you’re not always able to see when you need health coaching. Sometimes it’s very hard to change habits, and understanding when you need to make changes is not the easiest thing to do either. If you’re looking at your health and realizing that it’s going downhill, health coaching could be here. Here are some of the signs that you need it.
- You have no idea where to begin. You know you want to get healthier. You know you want to move more. You even want to have a look and see which therapists are available in your area. But you have no idea where to begin. This is a great sign to show that you need a health coach to help you to get there. Health coaches have the right knowledge in health and nutrition and they are able to understand how difficult making lifestyle changes can be. They can offer you support guidance and accountability to ensure that you can stick to the goals that you have for your health.
- You’re not sticking to it. You might already be on a plan, and if you’re having trouble following through on those health goals, a coach can really help. They can work with you to create a plan that is personalized to you and they can help you to stay accountable to set time by offering you support throughout the time you are on it. This is a process, nobody gets healthier overnight. You have to trust that your body knows what it’s doing and that you are confident and smart enough to get through this whole process and become healthier in the end.
- You want to develop healthy habits. A good sign that you’re ready for a health coach is that you want it to work. You have some goals in your head that are realistic and you have an action plan that is realistic, too. You know the obstacles that are getting in your way and you know the things that are going to stop you staying motivated.
- You’re finding it difficult to stick to it. When it comes to your health you may know exactly what you should be doing but that doesn’t mean the changes that you need to make it easy. Health coaching and work with you on the mindset side of things, and they’ll be able to work with you to ensure that you can stay focused on what your goals are. When you feel yourself wobbling and ready to slip they will be there to catch you.
