Many people say that your wedding day goes by in such a flash that you hardly remember it at all. From the moment you wake up and start getting ready for the big day to the time you leave the party for the first time as a married couple: there are a lot of things that can slip your mind.
This is why it is so important to find ways of remembering your wedding day for years to come. This is the most special day of your life and includes some of the most special people. Consider how you can make your day stand out and how you can ensure that the memory of it never gets left behind. Here are some simple things you can do to help you remember your wedding day this year.
Take photos
The first and most obvious way to keep your memory alive is to hire a photographer who can take photographs for you throughout the day of those key moments. Finding a wedding photographer near me will allow you to create some amazing memories that can last for a lifetime. When thinking about photographs on your wedding day it is also good to consider candid shots that would otherwise not be taken. You can make these shots happen by placing a disposable camera on each of the tables at the wedding reception and people can then take photos throughout the evening to capture moments you might have missed. You can then spend an hour or two going through all of the printed photos after your wedding day. You might want to check out OrcaVue who offer 360 degree photo booths!
Get a videographer
One route many people have started to go down when remembering their big day is hiring a videographer to help bring the day to life. The great thing about having a videographer as well as a photographer is that as well as the posed images, you get to see the real atmosphere of the day and enjoy how everyone laughed and cried during the day. Seeing the real reactions of your family and friends on the day is a great memory to hold onto and it will bring the memory to life.
Hire a photo booth
A fun idea for both entertainment and funny memories on the night of your wedding is to hire a photo booth where guests can filter in and out, making faces and wearing funny props. This is a fun way to see your family and friends having a laugh and it will provide you with some great memories to hang onto. Lay out a guest book
As well as taking photographs of your loved ones, having a guest book where people can write a message to you is a special way to commemorate the day. You could either do this as a canvas that can be hung up in your home after your wedding, or a book that can be kept with your photo albums for a lovely memory. Having those you love write messages of support is a great idea and it will really make you happy.

I’m gutted that my wedding won’t be what we had originally planned. We were going to have a flower wall and a photographer capturing the candid moments. I love a personal guest book, it will capture the thoughts and feelings of that day that we can look back on over time!

Great post! Getting a photographer and videographer for our wedding meant so much to me! It really does help you relive your special day. My husband and I both cried when we got our video and watched it for the first time. Great memories to have!

So true! Most weddings in Malaysia nowadays have photo book frames, special videos, photo booth, and a guest book. It’s for the married couple to keep memories of their big day.

I am excited to one day get married, and capturing the memories are something I really want to treasure. I love the idea of a guest book. What we are doing is having a clear shadow box and little hearts which guests can write on and put in the box. I think these ideas are so sweet, thank you for sharing! Em x

Great post, Kayleigh! One of the best investments for my wedding I made was a photo booth! Everyone had a blast and everyone had photos with EVERYONE haha we didn’t put a limit on ours so people were having fun with the props all night. Thanks for sharing x

I am nowhere near getting married, but these are great ways to remember the big day. I know I would want a videographer to capture the day though! Memories to cherish. My brother and his wife had disposable cameras on the guest tables, and some of those photos are real gems…captures the scenes that you may miss, doesn’t it?!
Thanks for sharing 🙂

I agree with all these points! We had a guestbook for our wedding, and I love reading those messages, notes and bits of advice. They are very personal to me.

We did a polaroid guest book so that kind of combined the photobooth with the guest book. Everyone took an instant photo, used washi tape to put it in the book, and then signed next to it. It’s one of my most treasured items and I display it proudly in our living room along with the Google Photos wedding book we did with all of our professional photos!
i always have loved the idea of a guestbook because can write down really cute messages or things that you can look back on years later that’ll remind you of the day

These are some really lovely ideas for any furture weddings — it’s nice to have a momento of that special day. I didn’t have any of these because I didn’t have a “traditional” wedding (just went down to the courthouse — which was perfect for us) but if you’re going to plan a day like this — this is really useful!
I love these simple ideas to remember your wedding day with! How special! Thanks for sharing!
We had a guest book but people didn’t write messages, they just wrote their names lol.
We had a photographer and videographer and thought it was worth it for sure. I recommend disposable cameras for each table at the reception.
