GUEST POST | Hey lovelies, today I have guest post from my wonderful friend Mariam about Pinterest and Pinterest marketing, and you might be looking at the title and thinking this is clickbait. It isn’t, Mariam is a Pinterest Queen. I hope y’all enjoy this post and follow Mariam on her socials.
This post includes affiliate links.
If youβre a blogger, you probably want to learn how to grow your blog traffic, right? Well youβre in luck because today I am sharing my number one tip to growing your blog traffic and growing it fast.
Last month upon checking my analytics at the end of the month, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had for the first time surpassed 100,000 monthly blog sessions.
This number was a goal of mine since I started my blog a year and a half ago, and I didnβt think I would reach this number so soon. Yet there it was 105,000 blog sessions in July alone.
Below is a screenshot of my stats for July.
How did I do it? With the help of Pinterest.
A lot of bloggers have trouble with mastering Pinterest and growing on there, and I think that itβs mainly due to not implementing the correct strategies as well as not being patient. I talk about some of the most common Pinterest mistakes here.
Pinterest, like any other method of growing blog traffic, takes time to get great results from. I didnβt get to 100,000 monthly viewers in a month. I got there in a year and a half. So it is important to keep in mind that this is not a get-there-fast tactic for blog traffic.
How Can Pinterest Help You:
Pinterest is a search engine that can be used to drive traffic to all sorts of pages.
You can use Pinterest to drive traffic to:
- Your online store
- Your blog
- Your mailing list sign-ups
- Your digital products store
- Your Etsy shop
- Your Instagram
- Your affiliate link sites
- Your TikTok account
And the list goes on and on.
I use Pinterest to drive traffic to my blog, which helps me make income through ad revenue, affiliate sales, digital product sales, and my online services. So to put it in simple terms, I make money with the help of Pinterest.
If youβre looking to make an income from your blog, or make sales of any sort, Pinterest is definitely a great avenue to turn to.
How To Grow Blog Traffic Using Pinterest
Your Profile
Treat your profile like your resume. What I mean by that is have it look like a professional profile with a clear picture, clear bio optimized with keywords, board covers, and organized boards.
The first thing someone who comes across your account sees is your profile. Therefore it is important to make it known to the reader WHAT your blog is about as soon as they get on your profile. Your bio is the perfect place to explain what your blog is about.
Do not use your bio to talk about yourself. Use keywords which will help not only the reader understand what your posts are about, but also for the algorithm.
Your Pins
The pins you put out will be the pins people see and decide if they want to click on them to learn more. Therefore, having attractive pins that use enticing language on them is crucial. A good rule of thumb is to create your pins in a way that will make the reader believe that this pin will fix a problem of theirs.
Making pins can be difficult if you donβt know where to start, or if you are short on time. That is where templates come in handy. Using templates has cut my work in half, and now Iβm able to create hundreds of pins in just a couple of hours.
You can use my pin templates which will give you 21 fully-customizable pin templates for Canva. These can be customized to match your colors and branding, and will save you so much time! You can use the code KAYLEIGH for 10% off! Click here to get your viral pin templates (AF).
Your Pinning strategy
There is definitely a right way to pin and a wrong way to pin. You need to pin strategically at times when your audience is most active, so digging into your analytics is crucial for your Pinterest growth.
Using the right keywords is also going to help your pins get noticed by the algorithm. I often see pinners not using keywords and because of that, your pins donβt go out to as many people as they could. So definitely use trending keywords to your advantage when writing your descriptions.
Staying Consistent
A complaint I often hear from other pinners is that their accounts βdonβt growβ, or that theyβre growing too slow. This is a very common complaint and while it is a valid complaint, you canβt really expect fast results.
Pinterest marketing takes time just as does any other method of growing your blog. It is the same with SEO strategies, as well as with any other way of growing blog traffic.
It doesnβt happen overnight, and as long as you have the right strategies in place and are implementing them consistently, you will see results sooner or later.
Because of how I was able to grow my Pinterest to drive over 100K monthly visitors to my blog, I have created my own affordable course for Pinterest marketing for creators.
The Pinterest marketing guide (AF) is 100 pages long and will teach you everything you need to know about using Pinterest correctly to help you use the platform to drive traffic to your blog.

Conclusion
Getting good results with Pinterest marketing is absolutely possible for you if you have a blog, website, or online store youβd like to grow. By implementing the correct strategies, I was able to grow my blog audience to over 100K a month, and you can too. There is a wrong way to use Pinterest though, so do your own research and avoid doing anything that could get you marked as spam by Pinterest.
And remember, you can get my Pinterest Marketing Guide here (AF) for 15% off with the code KAYLEIGH.

This is a great post. I follow Mariam on Twitter and read her blog. 100K monthly views is amazing! It’s so true that a good Pinterest strategy takes time and patience. It can bring a LOT of traffic to your blog but some people give up too soon when they don’t see results immediately.

I think it takes some time to figure out Pinterest. In the last month, I’ve tried to be consistent with it and my monthly impressions on Pinterest have shot up from like 50k to nearly 550k, but that has not really translated to a lot of blog sessions, unfortunately. I still need to further work on my strategy to increase link clicks and hence, get actual blog traffic!
Great tips here, and 100K blog sessions is absolutely amazing!

I’ve always written Pinterest off as a growth tactic because it seemed like people were only talking about it to share their affiliate links. But you’re one of the reasons I’ve decided to give it a try and start a Pinterest growth strategy. I definitely need to upgrade my profile to be more like a resume since it was my personal profile for the longest time. But this post was a really helpful start! π

I’ve noticed authors making pinterest profiles and asking people to follow, but I didn’t understand why. Now I see that it can be used to drive traffic to their website. Wow. I’ve had a Pinterest account for years. I rarely use it. But I’m going to revisit. Thanks for the info!

Thank you so much for the tips. I am new to blogging and it’s been really hard to keep up with motivation during the summer. I feel like we are finally allowed to leave our houses so I don’t want to sit inside on the computer but you are right that I HAVE to be consistent. Thanks for the encouragement and information!

Great advice! I have really started to dig into my Pinterest account as of late, and it’s starting to pay off already. It’s not a fast change, but there is a noticable increase of traffic from that platform to my blog. It’s exciting to start seeing your work pay off, which only motivates me to dig into it further!

I so needed to read this post right now. I’ve always had a love hate relationship with Pinterest, and I think it’s because I don’t know how to use it properly.
One of the things that gets to me is designing new pins all the time so pin templates sound like such a good idea.
I’ll be bookmarking this post for future reference π

Ah, I’m so aware of the benefits of Pinterest but I’m also completely hopeless with it π I’ve got no eye for good design pins and no patience for it. Thankfully my SEO is working well and my traffic is growing steadily, but slowly. Pinterest is probably just the boost I need, but I need to find the time and will to put some effort into it first. A really great post, this! Gave me some food for thought.

Hi Kayleigh. Pinterest is (potentially) a huge asset for bloggers, isn’t it? It’s certainly something that I think I need to spend more time on. Do you focus most of your social media efforts on Pinterest or do you spread your time equally across all of them?
