School can be really tough and stressful at times, especially when you’re trying to balance your studies with a social life and maybe even a part-time job. It’s easy to get bogged down and feel like you’re just going through the motions, but it’s important to step back and remember why you’re doing all this in the first place. Learning should be an enriching experience that broadens your horizons, and there are plenty of ways to make sure that your studies are doing just that. Keep reading for some tips on how to get the most out of your college career!
1. Get Involved in Extracurricular Activities
One of the best ways to make the most of your college experience is to get involved in extracurricular activities. This could mean anything from joining a club or student organization to participating in sports or volunteering in your community. Not only will getting involved help you meet new people and make friends, but it will also give you a chance to explore new interests and develop new skills. And who knows? Maybe you’ll find something that you’re passionate about and want to pursue as a career!
2. Study Abroad
If you’ve always loved going on school trips, then you may find that studying abroad is right for you. It’s a great way to learn about new cultures and see the world while still earning credit towards your degree. You might even be able to take classes that aren’t offered at your home school. Studying abroad is also a great way to meet new people and make lifelong friends. Just be sure to do your research so that you choose a program that’s right for you.
3. Take Advantage of Office Hours
One of the best resources that your teacher have to offer is their time! If you’re struggling with a particular subject or just want to talk about your career goals, make an appointment during your teacher’s office hours. They’ll be more than happy to chat with you about what you’re learning and how it can be applied in the real world. Plus, building relationships with your teachers is always a good idea—you never know when you might need a letter of recommendation!
4. Do Your Own Research
In addition to attending lectures and reading your textbook, it’s also important to do your own research outside of class. This could involve anything from reading articles online to visiting museums or going on field trips. The more effort you put into learning about a subject, the more likely you are to retain the information and get something out of it. And who knows? You might even find yourself enjoying the process!
5. Talk About What You’re Learning With Others
One of the best ways to solidify what you’re learning is by talking about it with others. This could mean discussing topics with classmates after class or meeting up with friends for study sessions before exams. You can also join online forums or start a blog where you share what you’re learning with the world! Talking about what you’re studying will not only help you better understand the material, but it will also give you a chance to share your unique perspective on things.

Getting involved with extra-curricular activities is all part of the university / college experience – definitely a must-do, and they don’t have to be course-related either as you’ll get to meet a whole new range of people – great tips, Kayleigh!

When I was younger there weren’t any decent after school activities at my school which I now look back on and find so sad!
I dont know what schools are like now, but back then as soon as it hit 3:15, that was it.
